They also adjust their casting and splinting techniques according to the anatomy of the patient to ensure the best possible outcomes. What Is Casting and Splinting?

Casts and Splints are orthopedic hard wraps used for offering support and protection to fractured/injured bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and other tissues.

Casting and splinting help stabilise fractures and reduce pain, swelling, and muscle spasms by keeping your fractured limbs immobile for 4-6 weeks.

What is Taping?

Taping is a technique physiotherapists use for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Different taping techniques are used for achieving different treatment goals.

At Newcastle Integrated Physiotherapy, our therapists use a wide range of taping techniques to support, stabilise, and facilitate optimal joint movement in both the acute and chronic phases of treatment. We use both Kinesio and rigid tape depending on the injury and stage of rehabilitation. For casting, we use either plaster or waterproof fibreglass, and we’re also well-equipped to fit a boot at your doctor’s request if the fracture is not too serious and offer post-cast removal if necessary.

With our complete range of casting, splinting, and taping services available, you’re just a click away from getting a physiotherapy expert to assist you with your recovery.
